BBB National Programs released “Risky Business,” examining privacy in the Android teen application marketplace. The study of 53,000 Android mobile apps found those targeted to teen users are more likely to engage in ad targeting to include third-party trackers and offer more in-app purchases. “It is incumbent on industry now to exercise responsibility and show accountability by developing appropriate standards that take into account teens’ habits, preferences, and developmental state,” the study stated.
