In hearings, Australia’s Treasury dismissed concerns raised during a submission window over the country’s impending Consumer Data Right, ZDNet reports. Treasury Head of Structural Reform Hamish McDonald called passage of the legislation “critical,” rejected claims that the legislation is being rushed, and said, “I'm not sure that more time would improve the bill,” adding, “The time for the start date of consumer data is useful in that it allows more time after the legislation, after the rules and after the data standards have been finalised. It allows more time for testing during that period.”
