Australian real estate group Harcourts sustained a data breach to its Melbourne franchise, Gizmodo reports. The company confirmed the franchisee became aware 24 Oct. its rental property database was accessed by an unauthorized third party. Harcourts Australia CEO Adrian Knowles said tenants’ personally identifying information and their bank information were “potentially visible” to the hackers. The company will offer free credit monitoring and identity theft protection to impacted individuals. The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner was notified of the breach.
