Australia Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus said a "whole range" of "modernisations" will be considered within the next iteration of the Privacy Act, the Guardian reports. Dreyfus said privacy law reforms in "a number of developed countries" and those created by the EU General Data Protection Regulation "are among the matters that will need to be considered." Dreyfus said the Australian Law Reform Commission has long recommended "a statutory tort of privacy" and said it is "among the matters to be considered."
