An audit by the U.S. Government Accountability Office said Customs and Border Protection is not transparent enough with travelers about facial recognition technology used at ports of entry, Nextgov reports. The audit said CBP did not provide complete and accurate privacy notices or conduct appropriate audits to make sure its facial recognition use complies with privacy standards. It also states signs informing the public of the CBP facial recognition program contain inaccurate information or are hard to see.
