After Verizon announced it will stop selling location data to “geolocation aggregators” LocationSmart and Zumigo, Sprint and AT&T revealed they have taken similar action, The Wall Street Journal reports. The moves come after Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., inquired about the practice after it was reported one of the companies with access to LocationSmart’s systems created a website where law enforcement could find the location of a cellphone without a court order. A Sprint spokeswoman said the company suspended its services with LocationSmart last month and will do so with other current contracts, while AT&T said in a statement it “will be ending our work with aggregators for these services as soon as practical.” (Registration may be required to access this story.)
