In an op-ed for EUobserver, Sam Dupont looks at how the "Schrems II" ruling could impact the European Union. Dupont writes the combination of few adequacy decisions and the ongoing impact of Brexit leaves the EU at risk of isolating itself from the rest of the world. "There is no easy or obvious solution to this crisis, but if the EU cannot find a way to ensure continued data flows, particularly with like-minded allies, Europe risks becoming an island in the digital world," he writes.
