Business Review reports on the impact the EU General Data Protection Regulation has had on Romania since its implementation. The Romanian National Supervisory Authority For Personal Data Processing has performed 981 inspections and issued 57 corrective measures and 23 warnings since the GDPR came into effect. Reff & Associates Partner Georgiana Singurel said the GDPR has been a "major disruptor" for Romanian companies that process personal data. "We see amongst our clients a continued focus on setting up complex internal processes and on adjusting legal documents in order to comply with the GDPR, as well as on training their employees in this area," Singurel said.
