Executives from Ashley Madison’s parent company Avid Life Media have said the Federal Trade Commission has launched an investigation into the company following last year's massive data breach, Reuters reports. Avid's CEO Rob Segal and President James Millership, in their first interview since last year's hack, said the company lost more than a quarter of its revenue after the attack and is spending millions to boost security, while looking at payment options promising more privacy. Avid hired Deloitte to remedy its issues and expects to hit the first level of Payment Card Industry compliance by September. Though the company does not know the focus of what’s being investigated by the FTC, it may stem from when it used fake female profiles to influence customers, a practice confirmed through an EY report commissioned by Avid.
