CBC News reports on the privacy concerns continuing to swirl as drones rise in popularity. Lerners Lawyers’ Laura Emmett said privacy should be given as much consideration as safety when Transport Canada considers new rules for the devices. "Unfortunately, for recreational drone users there isn't a requirement that they register their drone or the flight path," said Emmett. While current Transport Canada drone rules state the devices must have the contact information of the owner, Emmett said the information may be difficult to see when the drone is in the air. Emmett notes the consultation period for Transport Canada's regulations ended in Oct., "So I expect we will be seeing new rules shortly."
