Speaking before a nine-judge Supreme Court, Attorney General KK Venugopal argued that, while there is a fundamental right to privacy, “every aspect of it will not qualify as a fundamental right,” The Times of India reports. Arguments before the Supreme Court began Wednesday and are part of an ongoing debate surrounding privacy as a fundamental right. It is also reported that Lawyer Kapil Sibal, representing four non-BJP ruling states, moved the top court to intervene in the ongoing hearing on privacy, stating that “in the light of technological advancement, the court is needed to take a fresh look on the right to privacy and its contours in the modern day.”
