Argentine President Alberto Fernandez appointed the first woman to head the country's data protection agency, the Agency for Access to Public Information, when he recently named Beatriz de Anchorena to the post. In her new position, Anchorena is tasked with guaranteeing the right of access to public information, promoting measures of active transparency and ensuring the protection of personal data. Anchorena previously served as undersecretary of Institutional Strengthening of the Secretariat of Management and Public Employment where she led the creation of the National Directorate for Integrity and Transparency.
