U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar of the Northern District of California ruled with Apple on charges of false advertising claims, saying the consumers "failed to demonstrate that Apple's privacy-related marketing was sufficiently extensive to support an inference of class-wide exposure," The Recorder reports. Tigar has overseen five consolidated lawsuits with privacy-related claims targeting Apple and other app makers since 2013. In another privacy case, a judge has refused to dismiss a class-action lawsuit against smart TV company Vizio, alleging the company tracks and shares viewing data with companies that then participate in targeted marketing campaigns.
