Aetna and Apple have joined forces to create a health-tracking app called Attain that will launch this spring, CNBC reports. Aetna members will be able to combine their patient history with their Apple Watch data to track their behaviors. Attain will offer rewards to users who actively engage in healthy behaviors, as well as provide health recommendations and reminders to get shots and take medications. Apple and Aetna both said it will not access and use any information collected by the app. Apple said all member data will be encrypted in transit and at rest. In an op-ed for USA Today, Anil Aswani and Yoshimi Fukuoka state the advancement of artificial intelligence may require an update to health care privacy laws.
