An employer has been accused of violating the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, Cook County Record reports. Hegewisch Development Corp. allegedly failed to inform its employees on the reasons why their fingerprints had been collected and the length of time the information was to be stored. The plaintiffs also alleged the company shared the biometric information with third parties and failed to schedule a time to destroy the data. The case against Hegewisch comes after another lawsuit was filed against AGCO Corp. and Ceridian HCM Inc. for similar violations of the biometric law.
