Australian Attorney General Christian Porter announced Angelene Falk has been named the country’s new information and privacy commissioner, iTnews reports. Falk has been serving as the acting information and privacy commissioner following Timothy Pilgrim’s retirement from the role earlier this year. In addition to serving as acting commissioner, Falk had worked as deputy commissioner, as well as other senior positions within the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. “Ms Falk has extensive experience delivering the functions of independent regulators and a track record of working across Commonwealth and state agencies, business and the community in law, policy and education,” Porter said.
