An Android smartphone malware called PhoneSpy has been targeting South Korean users to monitor and steal phone data, ZDNet reports. The malware seems to gain access through innocuous-looking phishing messages asking for user permission after being tucked into harmless-looking applications and installed. PhoneSpy can track a phone's location, hijack the microphone and cameras, steal SMS texting and call data, and send other phone data to the malware's operator.
