CNBC reports on the potential for U.S. Congress to act on the proposed American Data Privacy and Protection Act when both chambers return from summer recess Sept. 6. While the bill was available for a House floor vote prior to the break, Cowen's Washington Research Group Managing Director Paul Gallant said it took Congress "too long to get where we are today" and doubts potential for consideration for the bill in the lame duck session after elections, but prior compromises "bode well for Congress to move a privacy bill next year."
