The American Academy of Pediatrics is urging lawmakers to ban advertising targeted to children under 7 years old, CNN reports. The group is also advocating for limits to advertising aimed at those under 17 and an update to the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. The AAP released its policy statement on digital advertising to children Monday, which "expresses concern about the practice of tracking and using children’s digital behavior to inform targeted marketing campaigns."
