Amazon will change its cancellation policy in line with EU consumer regulations, according to the European Commission. EU and European Economic Area customers will be able to cancel their Amazon Prime subscription with two clicks, and the platform will feature a prominent "cancel" button. Previously, European customers had to navigate "through multiple pages containing distracting information and unclear button labels" to unsubscribe. Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders welcomed the commitment, "Consumers must be able to exercise their rights without any pressure from platforms" and added, "'dark patterns' must be banned."
