U.S. District Judge Nancy Rosenstengel of the Southern District of Illinois dismissed a class-action lawsuit against Amazon and Pindrop alleging Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act violations, BiometricUpdate.com reports. The original suit claimed violations stemming from voice data collection when individuals called insurer John Hancock. Rosenstengel threw out the case after finding the events the case focused on did not take place in Illinois.
