GeekWire reports Amazon considered automatically opting users out of human review of voice recording after facing public backlash for the practice. Instead, the company updated privacy settings that allow users to opt out of human review and automatically delete voice recordings, in addition to updating its privacy notice on the website. The company decided against offering the automatic option, citing "human review is 'critically important to making Alexa better.'"
