London-based DeepMind Health, Google's artificial intelligence research company, has reached a deal with the U.K. National Health Service that includes sharing patient data. The deal carries a provision for sending five years’ worth of "active" patient data, including historical encounter and diagnostic information on patients, as well as the electronic patient record database in bulk. A similar agreement between DeepMind and NHS was struck down in 2017 by the U.K. Information Commissioner's Office.
