New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas is asking the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals to review allegations that Google’s educational applications violate the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, MediaPost reports. “Google collects all sorts of information about students’ online habits which it then uses to build profiles on individual students, and it does so without providing notice or obtaining consent from parents,” Balderas said in a court filing. U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal dismissed Balderas’ lawsuit against Google last September.
