Following Apple’s emergency software update to address a spyware vulnerability, security researcher Patrick Wardle said changes could be made to improve the safety of iMessage and iOS, GovInfoSecurity reports. Wardle suggested security customizations, like allowing only text, no PDFs, for example, through iMessage. “There are a lot of third-party plug-ins, plug-ins and extensions that really allow you to still use the browser, but really reduce the attack surface, which is great,” he said.
