The enactment of data protection legislation across Africa bodes well for the future. While only half of the 54 African countries have enacted data protection laws, Law Offices of Jeremy W. McKey Senior Legal Associate Cathy-Eitel Nzume, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, expects more legislation to be passed. "African countries will increasingly enact or pass data protection regulations, as experts are becoming more and more aware of the issues stemming from unprotected data," she writes.
