Spain's data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, published its annual activity report for 2020. The AEPD said the report reflects commitments to "guarantee health care measures, control of the pandemic and the fundamental right to data protection." The regulator received 10,324 complaints in 2020, a 123% increase, and 16% and 15% of those claims were against internet services and improper insertion in delinquency files, respectively. The AEPD also handed out sanctioning procedures most frequently to financial entities and telecommunications companies.
