Spain’s data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, released resources for avoiding unwanted advertising. The AEPD recommends reading privacy conditions and assessing the benefits of participating in activities, like a customer loyalty program, in exchange for personal information. “It is important to assess our personal data and the information we provide and think about the consequences it could have for us if a security breach occurs that could affect the confidentiality of the information we provide,” the AEPD said.
