Spain's data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, posted a blog regarding proper treatment and evaluation of biometric data use under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The AEPD noted a range of evaluation factors, including "adequacy, proportionality and necessity." The regulator also indicated there are "different classification criteria for biometric systems" while providing a chart outlining the various criteria.
