Consumer Reports released a statement praising the U.S. House of Representatives for passing $500 million in funding toward the Federal Trade Commission's privacy enforcement efforts in the Build Back Better Act. Consumer Reports Director of Consumer Privacy and Technology Justin Brookman called on the Senate to follow the House in passing the "crucial" funding and increased authority, noting the FTC has "lacked the resources to do the massive job with which it is tasked."
