The Electronic Privacy Information Center has announced it is part of a 20-group coalition that penned a letter to the U.S. Congress regarding their objection to the recent U.S.-U.K. Clarifying Lawful Overseas Use of Data Act deal. The coalition wrote that the data-sharing agreement "fails to adequately protect the privacy and due process rights of U.S. and U.K. citizens," proposing the agreement be voided. The groups added that the agreement must "include robust rights protections that provide an appropriate model" for similar agreements being drafted by the U.S.
