MediaPost reports advertising technology company NaviStone was cleared of lawsuits in California and Pennsylvania pertaining to the legality of its user-tracking technology. In Pennsylvania, a judge threw out claims that NaviStone's tracking code violated state wiretap law, finding the company did not intercept users' communications without consent. A similar wiretap violation was brought in California, but a federal judge deemed claims NaviStone put a cookie on a plaintiff's browser were unfounded.
