This year’s back-to-school season presents several data privacy concerns that schools and districts must plan for, Education Week reports. “Reopening plans must balance protecting health and protecting student privacy and educational rights,” said the Future of Privacy Forum’s Director of Youth and Education Amelia Vance. With remote instruction, contact-tracing and more due to COVID-19, districts should plan for collecting, using and storing data in a transparent way that minimizes risks and builds trust.
