In an article for AdExchanger, Davis & Gilbert Partner Gary Kibel, CIPP/US, writes ad tech companies should start getting ready for the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018. Companies in the U.S. may already be ahead of the game if they took steps to ensure they are compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, but those that have not will have to start paying attention to the upcoming rule. In order to prepare for the CCPA, organizations will need to be ready for consumers to control the sale of their data and a more fleshed-out definition of personal information compared to the GDPR.
