Internet service providers and advertising groups have called the Senate's vote in favor to overturn the Federal Communications Commission's broadband privacy rules a victory, MediaPost reports. "Consumers and innovation will benefit from the Administration having the opportunity to hit the reset button and develop a comprehensive approach to consumer online privacy," said the 21st Century Privacy Coalition's Mary Bono. Not all shared her perspective. "At a time when our personal data is more vulnerable than ever, it’s baffling that Senate Republicans would eliminate the few privacy protections Americans have today,” said Rep. Frank Pallone Jr., D-N.J., in a Washington Post report.
