The American Civil Liberties Union has announced it has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts alleging the Federal Bureau of Investigation has unlawfully been tracking citizens through biometric technology. The ACLU is seeking to force the FBI to return all records from their unwarranted biometric scans, including all information collected from facial-recognition software. "The FBI’s troubling political policing practices underscore the urgent need for transparency," the ACLU wrote in a statement, adding that the FBI "stonewalls our requests for information about how its agents are tracking and monitoring our faces."
