The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has begun an official probe of the Google-Fitbit merger, ChannelNews reports. The investigation is set to focus on Google's use of data collected by Fitbit devices, with the ACCC specifically concerned about the potential for targeted health ads. The investigation follows comments from ACCC Chairman Rod Sims in November 2019 regarding his concerns about the merger.
