  • The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office announced it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Global Cyber Alliance to continue a data-sharing partnership aimed at improving cybersecurity and mitigating risks of cybercrimes.
  • Sweden's data protection authority, Datainspektionen, fined Umeå University SEK 550,000 for a lack of security measures for sensitive data stored in a cloud database. 
  • Turkey's government published the law on processing personal data in electronic communications in the official gazette, Resmî Gazete. The law will take effect June 4, 2021.
  • Colombia's data protection authority, the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio, issued a fine of 72,923,136 pesos to Scotiabank Colpatria for not responding to customer requests to remove personal data from the bank's database.
