The Markup reports on the efforts of technology companies to influence U.S. state privacy laws in more than 20 states. The efforts in Connecticut, Oklahoma, Texas and Washington were placed under the microscope, where companies such as Facebook, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Google and AT&T have spent time and monetary resources to potentially influence the bills in those states.
