Electronic Arts informed users approximately 50 “high-profile” FIFA 2022 accounts were hacked over the last several weeks, ZDNet reports. According to a company statement, the accounts were compromised through phishing techniques and other social engineering tactics used to trick EA customer experience team members into helping the hackers circumvent two-factor authentication, and said the hackers used “threats” to “exploit human error” among company team members. It was reported 100 top traders in FIFA Ultimate Team were targeted, many of whom win large sums of money from their gameplay.
