Nunavut Information and Privacy Commissioner Graham Steele does not think the Government of Nunavut is doing enough for the access and privacy system, according to Nunatsiaq News. Steele's office tabled its 2020-21 report in the legislative assembly Sept. 9, which delineated outdated systems, legal errors and notable underreporting. Steele said a severe lack of staffing and training has exacerbated the issue, and is asking the government and legislative assembly to grant him authority to hold governmental bodies accountable, which was recently done in the Northwest Territories.
