- Nearly 4 million patients had personal data compromised in health care system data breaches reported to the U.S. government in July, Modern Healthcare reports. Almost half of affected patients had their data exposed in a ransomware attack of Greeley, Colorado-based Professional Finance Company, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights.
- A hacker claims to have stolen data belonging to 1 million students from the University of Kashmir’s database, Pakistan Observer reports. The hacker declared the data he stole included student registration numbers and email passwords.
