Hackers stole approximately 26 million usernames, emails and passwords belonging to blogging service LiveJournal in 2017 that were shared on a hacking forum this month, The Register reports. On his site Have I been Pwned, security researcher Troy Hunt says a LiveJournal spinoff called Dreamwidth reported credential abuse in 2018, and an archive of the data has been redistributed. The platform said it is unsure if a data breach occurred but is advising users to treat passwords as if they have been compromised.
