The Global Times reports China added privacy updates to its data processing of personal information that will be used for The Seventh National Population Census of the People's Republic of China. Citizens have been granted the option to upload personal data via WeChat in an effort to avoid the risk of data loss. "(Local census takers) are not allowed to access the information. We can only check how many people have uploaded their information," a census pilot worker said.
