Reuters reports on developments regarding the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), a proposed free-trade agreement between the EU and U.S. Consumer groups have called language in the agreement a “backdoor way” for U.S. businesses to sidestep EU data protection law. Roughly 60 supporters and opponents of the agreement will address a panel convened by the Trade Representative’s office to discuss TTIP this week.
