Netflix has announced it will begin offering U.S. customers the ability to sync their Netflix and Facebook accounts to allow friends to see what they are watching, The New York Times reports. Netflix says customers will have explicit options. “You are in control of what gets shared,” said a Netflix spokesman. “You can choose not to share a specific title by clicking the ‘Don’t Share This’ button in the player.” Before the feature’s rollout, Netflix lobbied Congress to amend the Video Privacy Protection Act, which prohibited video service providers from sharing their customers’ viewing preferences, the report states.
