Citigroup has announced that about one percent of its North American credit card customer data was exposed when hackers breached its security, reports The New York Times. The names, account numbers, addresses and e-mail addresses of hundreds of thousands of customers were exposed. Citigroup says it is contacting all affected customers, and it "has implemented enhanced procedures to prevent a recurrence of this type of event." This breach is the latest in a series of large-scale cyber attacks--including those at Sony, RSA and Fox--and, according to the report, it presents the greatest threat to consumers.
