The article examines such recent developments as a lawsuit in Ireland challenging the EU's efforts to collect and store personal data, the UAE's plan to ban BlackBerry use unless it can monitor user information and a push in the U.S. to allow the government access to browser histories and e-mail addresses without judicial oversight.
