A telecommunications provider inadvertently released the e-mail addresses of 300 UK subscribers, The Register reports. Orange intended to survey customers about a feature on its Web site. In doing so, the company e-mailed all customers who had recently used the feature, but failed to enter the e-mail addresses in the "blind carbon copy" field. Therefore, recipients had access to the e-mail addresses of everyone surveyed. Orange said that it was aware of the problem and it was "looking at this as a matter of urgency."
