The First-tier Tribunal has published guidelines on how to appeal Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act notices, OUT-LAW.com reports. The First-tier Tribunal, which is part of the General Regulatory Chamber, replaces the recently abolished Informational Tribunal in handling appeals of Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) decisions. The tribunal's published guidance includes information on how it handles confidential information, notes explaining the appeal forms and a guide for those who are representing themselves in their appeals. The tribunal does not hear complaints against the information commissioner but only appeals of IOC decisions.
